OUR PURPOSEThe purpose of the Lake Vista Property Owners Association (“LVPOA”) is to work for the improvement, beautification and maintenance of Lake Vista; to strive for the enforcement of building and other legal restrictions as contained in the titles to land in Lake Vista; to require prospective builders in Lake Vista to strictly adhere to the said restrictions; to secure improved roadways, drainage and other like facilities; to suppress nuisances and to seek legislation and ordinances requiring the cutting of weeds on vacant land; to promote the interests and general welfare of residents and owners of real estate in Lake Vista; and, to do any and all things necessary, legal and proper for the betterment and improvement of land situated in Lake Vista; and, to accomplish all of the purposes set forth in the charter of this corporation, to it granted by the State of Louisiana; to perform such other services as may be necessary in order to further the interest and welfare of residents and owners of real estate in said area.
The association was founded to protect, beautify and ensure the quality of life and property values in Lake Vista.
Currently, our Annual Dues are only $75 per year, from January 1st to December 31st. Ten Dollars of each members dues is dedicated towards beautification of the neighborhood thanks to a joint effort with the Lake Vista Garden Club, who maintain the garden spots on Robert E. Lee and throughout the neighborhood. We do also fund additional beautification projects throughout the year.
The LVPOA holds two membership meetings per year, typically the last Mondays of April and October.
LVPOA sponsored annual neighborhood events and activities include a Semi-annual Membership Meetings, Halloween Party, King Cake Party, Back to School Party, Wine & Cheese Party.
The LVPOA is charged with working with the Orleans Levee District and its Non-Flood Protection Asset Management Authority (“NFPAMA” also known as the “Lakefront Management Authority”) who review all building and renovations in Lake Vista. The Orleans Levee District owns and maintains all of the large park space in Lake Vista, which makes this neighborhood unique. Did you know that these parks constitute 30% of Lake Vista? Also, as each lot is restricted to building on no more than 30%, this makes Lake Vista the greenest neighborhood in the City. It is no coincidence that we are just North of City Park.
The LVPOA includes an Architectural Review Committee that assists the Orleans Levee Board through its management entity, NFPAMA, in reviewing all building renovation or modification plans, including those for fences, pool and decks. Please see attached Building Restrictions, which are applicable to Lake Vista.
These Restrictions are attached to and made part of your Deed. These deed covenants are binding upon each owner of property in Lake Vista and are servitudes running with the land. Information regarding the administrative approval process can be found on the LVPOA and NFPAMA websites.
